WELCOME HOLY ONE!
The Center for Awakening promotes the New Thought spiritual philosophy of oneness and the Divine within all. We stand for spiritual liberation for all beings and that nothing outside ourselves is neccessary for our connection and oneness with God. We believe that the kingdom of heaven is within, in the infinite inner space of our divine true nature. We are a dogma free organization. We actively support charitable cause’s world wide. We have no salaried employees; therefore 100% of all donations go directly toward charitable causes and operating costs. The Center for Awakening was established as a 501 C 3 non-profit organization in 2006 by James LeVoy Sorenson and Rev. Bonnie Elizabeth of Salt Lake City UT.
We offer spiritual classes and retreats including meditation, yoga, Reiki, yoga nidra, kirtan, channelling, breathwork and more. All our events are offered on a love offering basis and go towards charitable projects. All activities promoted by the Center for Awakening are aligned with the oneness philosophy and are available to all people regardless of their religious or political affiliation, race, sex, sexual preference, economic or social standing; all are welcome, all are one!
Below is a list of some of Center for Awakenings recent charitable causes made possible by the generous donations of its supporters. If you have donated time or money for meditations, yoga, Reiki courses or fund raising events then you have been a part of making all these charitable projects come to realization. Without you it wouldn’t have been possible, you are making a difference in the world.
Gave financial support to a family who survived a house fire
Purchased winter shoes and socks for the grandparents at the SLC YWCA
Sponsored two women for a year through the women to women organization
Purchased a hot water heater for the Kanosh Indian community center
Helped a women needing a liver transplant
A man with Cerebral Palsy
Donated money to an orphanage in Uganda
Helped a single parent family from being evicted
Donated to schools and orphanages in India
Brought coats and sweatshirt’s to the homeless
Donated food to the food bank
Helped out three families for the holidays
Raised money for families and schools in Costa Rica
Provided supplies for the YWCA
